Real Posh Veils Bride - Rebecca

Hi my loves. It's been a while since I sat down to post. It's been an exciting and eventful wedding season. Lots of new things to share with you.

I,m so excited to share my real bride's wedding that was recently featured on Style Me Pretty Canada...YAY!!!!

Rebecca was referred to me by Melissa from Lustre Events. And she was looking for a chapel length veil that was narrow at the comb (no volume or ruching of any kind) and full at the bottom. This was an unusual request as most veils are same in width from the comb to the bottom. I was happy to help. I'm always pleased when other wedding industry professionals refer a bride to me; it shows their trust and faith in my work. Thank you Melissa for having trusted me with your bride (our bride).

Rebecca & Zeb's wedding was amazing. It was beautifully captured by Mango Studios. Check out what I did for Rebecca's veil.

Groom Looks

The groom!!! That's what it's all about today. Forget boring tuxes with a cummaband. We are talking about stylish suits with tons of personality. Today's grooms have more freedom to wear something that suits their personality and everyday style.

Brides have become more flexible with letting their men wear what they want. I remember when all the groom had to do on his wedding day, was show up. Now he gets to choose his outfit too :)

My Two Favorite Toronto Florists

I am in love with beautifully-unruly bouquets. Well, at least that's what I call them...hehehe. They give me life.

It is so interesting to see the amazing things wedding floral artists do with what we once thought was the norm. Gone are the days of boring bouquets. We now have art, people!

Two of my absolute favorite florists in Toronto are: Lisa from (Sweet Woodruff) and Becky from (Blush and Bloom).

Wedding Details - Fruit

It's always exciting to see how wedding stylists/planners/designers style centerpieces and place settings. They come up with the neatest and coolest ideas.

Every year brings something new to the industry...something trendy or completely unique. Remember when mason jars were the IT item!? Every other wedding had a mason jar, clear glass or painted up. Loved that trend! However, trends die and we look for the next great creative idea.

One design element that I will never tire of, is fruit. Fruit creatively used throughout the wedding is timeless to me.

Check out some of these fruity ideas:

Blush Wedding Dresses

I have always loved the idea that a bride can wear whatever color dress she wants on her big day. Traditional restrictions of only white or ivory are long gone. Now, it's about choice, and personality preference. Well, that's if mommy or mommy-in-law approve that is :)

I have always favored ivory over white. However, I am increasingly falling for blush. It is so dreamy and I die a slow and beautiful death whenever I see a real bride in blush.

Here are gowns that give such a sweet sweet death :)  *death by prettiness*:

The Long and Short of It

I remember when I was planning my wedding in 2009. I wasn't sure of what length dresses to choose for my bridesmaids. It's such a tough decision because you have to think about:
  •  time of year - summer, spring, fall, or winter
  •  the comfort levels of your bridesmaids
  •  the price of the dresses
  •  the location of your wedding
  •  your wedding theme
Frankly, it's a little overwhelming. I guess that's why some brides just choose a color and let their bridesmaids choose their own dress. It makes so much sense. However, some brides like uniformity. There is no wrong or right way to throw your wedding. It is always and will always be about you and your groom.

Choosing your bridesmaids dresses should become easier if you come up with the three core decisions about the dresses:
  1. long or short, or both
  2. the theme (garden wedding, beach wedding, black-tie affair, etc)
  3. the color
Once you have those decisions in place, it becomes easier to search for dresses within your criteria.

Hi!

When you're a mother and a small business owner it gets kinda busy around my place. With that said, it's plain to see I've done a horrendous job of blogging. I can't understand why though, when I love writing and sharing the good stuff so much!

It's 2015, Happy New Year and all that good stuff :) Should I even promise to write daily? No, I won't do that. I will promise to TRY and post daily, how about that :)?

2015 started off well, then it went a bit south as I was battling some personal life challenges. But, I am back now! Happier, healthier, and sure of what I want in my life and for the future. I moved studios in January...yep! It's a bigger space and it's full of natural light. I'm going to do some incredible work there this Spring and Summer. I just know it.

Take a look at the new space and tell me you don't love it!
